Chassis Harness Installation Instructions

Please Read Before Installing

  • Everything on this harness is brand new. Be gentle when installing connectors. DO NOT FORCE THEM.
  • The hazard switch is activated from the switch panel.
  • An LED blinker relay is included and pre-wired.
  • The added relay is an extra rocker switch or ignition-on powered 12g 30 amp circuit flying lead. It only supplies power. You must supply the ground. Verify your circuit’s max amp draw and install the correct fuse. NOT TO BE USED FOR FANS.
  • A trigger switch is a 20g ground or power signal switch with no relay. It is left as a flying lead in the inputs and outputs disconnect.
  • DO NOT CUT THE HARNESS. Contact us if you have any questions.

This is a generic installation guide. Your legend is custom to match your build.

Installation Order: Front, then Cabin/Main, then Rear Subharness.

Front Harness

The front harness routes up the passenger side of the engine bay or can be tucked in the fender.

  1. Driver Corner Light Connector – Hold the wires at the back of the plug while installing onto the bulb holder. Install with the bulb holder removed from the lens to avoid damage.
  2. Driver Headlight Connector – Gray connector.
  3. Driver High Beam Connector – Black connector. Fasten loom to nose panel away from the fan.
  4. Passenger High Beam Connector – Black connector.
  5. Passenger Headlight Connector – Gray connector.
  6. Passenger Corner Light Connector – Install the same way as driver side. Hold wires at the back of the plug to prevent damage.

When routing wiring into the cabin, do not allow wires to sit on metal. A helpful tip is to cut a piece of vacuum hose lengthwise and slip it over the loom for protection.

The silver ring terminal with black heat shrink is your ground. Grounds must have a clean, tight connection.

Front to Cabin Connection: Connect the 6-pin gray DT Deutsch connector. Do not misplace the red seal.

Cabin / Main E36 Chassis Harness

Feed the harness over the steering column to keep it away from pedals. Take your time and handle it carefully.

  1. Cabin harness to front harness 6-pin gray DT Deutsch connector. Do not misplace the red seal.
  2. LED blinker relay – Secure it to the wiring.
  3. X20 connector – Route through firewall. OBD2 version: single pin goes to X6031 pin 01.
  4. Inputs and Outputs – Optional but pre-wired for add-ons.
  • Reverse (Yellow Flying Lead) – Must see power when shifted into reverse to activate reverse lights.
  • AA – 12g Pink – Ideal for radio power or additional key-on circuit.
  • BB – Digital Gauges – Follow your custom legend for correct labeling.
  • Wiper – Leave 12 inches of OEM wiper pigtail inside cabin. Brown is ground. Connect the 12g blue flying lead to one of the two 12g flying leads on the wiper pigtail.
  1. Brake pedal connector.
  2. Ignition switch.
  3. Blinker / high beam connector.
  4. Not used.
  5. Blue cluster connector.
  6. White cluster connector.
  7. Small black cluster connector.

Attach grounds. The silver ring terminal with black heat shrink is your ground. Ensure clean, tight contact.

OEM Headlight Switch: Apply light pressure and rotate the inner side until seated. Rotate the black collar to lock.

Rear Cabin Area

Connect Cabin Chassis Harness to Rear Chassis Harness. Do not misplace the red seal.

  1. Driver fuel level connector – Route through OEM round black cover and grommet if available.
  2. If equipped, connect second driver-side fuel pump.
  3. Speed signal and disconnect.
  4. Passenger fuel level and fuel pump connectors – Route through OEM round cover and install grommet if available.

Rear Harness

Route rear harness on driver side. Always route wiring inside the roll cage.

  1. Cabin Chassis Harness to Rear Chassis Harness connection.
  2. Route 3rd brake light wire into the sill.
  3. Route license plate lights through trunk lid. Leave slack for opening and closing. Connect to rear harness.
  4. Connect driver tail light. Secure wiring to factory metal tabs when routing.
  5. Connect passenger tail light.

The silver ring terminal with black heat shrink is your rear ground. Attach to the rear frame rail stud where the battery grounds to the vehicle. Grounds must be clean and tight.
